Building community through the joy of West Coast Swing
Steamboat Swings is a local dance community based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado — dedicated to spreading the joy of partner dancing, with West Coast Swing at our heart. Through inclusive social events, fun practice sessions, and vibrant dance parties, we bring people together in a connected, supportive way.
Here's a highlight from our Harvest Dance — a beautiful showcase by world champion dancers Nick King and Tashina Beckmann King, demonstrating the grace, musicality, and connection of West Coast Swing at the highest level.
West Coast Swing (WCS) is a smooth, improvisational partner dance that blends elements of swing with modern musical styles. It's danced in a slot and emphasizes elasticity, musical interpretation, and shared movement between partners.
Whether you're new to dance or looking to deepen your connection and creativity, WCS offers a welcoming, joyful path into partner dancing.
